ZEFER is a renewable energy company based in Byron Bay. At present we are engaged in providing customers in Byron, Tweed and Ballina shires with solar energy.

SOLAR ENERGY is a great way for homeowners to do their bit towards helping to reduce our impact on the planet. Your solar system will reduce pressure on our energy grid, will help save water, and provides clean electricity near where it is used.

16/6/2010 The Small Renewable Energy Scheme is currently being debated in Parliament. This scheme forms the basis of the discount on your solar scheme, as of this week that discount is about $5355 off the average 1.5 solar energy system. We will update the site as announce- ments are made.


10/6/2010 Gross Meters are starting to flow reasonably. All gross meters need to be installed by a certified level II electrician. The popularity of the NSW scheme and some faults with the first batch of gross meters have ensured that installations of this piece of equipment have been slow. Country Energy is not charging for this item. Customers in the Sydney area are being charged for the meter and installation.


1/6/2010 While accurate figures are impossible to obtain it has been estimated that in NSW we may be approaching the limit of 50MW for the Gross FIT. This means about 35,000 households will be eligible for the 60 cents a kilowatt hour rebate as legislated by the NSW government. This means that if you have a well placed, correctly orientated solar system you should be earning around $1500 a year which will be paid as a discount off your electricity bill. For customers in credit you should expect a regular cheque from your energy provider.
